Genné DeHenau McDonald is a physical therapist with over three decades of clinical practice in pelvic health, orthopedic conditions with extensive experience with lumbar and SI joint pain, and oncology-related conditions. She earned her degree in Physical Therapy with departmental honors from Oakland University and began her career at the University of Michigan Medical Center, where she developed the hospital’s first post-mastectomy rehabilitation protocol.
A national leader in pelvic health, Genné was among the early contributors to the Gynecological Manual through the American Physical Therapy Association’s Women’s Health Section. She has developed and directed multiple specialty rehabilitation programs across the country, including the Women’s Center for Rehabilitation in Colorado Springs, ReQuest Physical Therapy for Women in Gainesville,Florida, and oncology rehabilitation services at the University of Florida’s Davis Cancer Center.
Her clinical specialties include male and female pelvic floor dysfunction, pregnancy and postpartum pain, sexual and urinary/bowel dysfunction, cancer-related musculoskeletal and visceral conditions, and sacroiliac and low back disorders. She is board certified in Pelvic Floor Muscle Dysfunction Biofeedback and has advanced training in manual therapy, visceral mobilization, and movement system impairment syndromes.
Genné has served as an APTA Credentialed Clinical Instructor, adjunct faculty at the University of Florida, and a national educator and consultant in the examination and treatment of the SI joint. She has authored clinical publications, co-developed rehabilitation protocols, and educated over 10,000 clinicians nationwide.
