Lynn Deal received her Masters of Reading Education from Appalachian State University with a 4.o GPA and graduated Magna Cum Laude from UNC-Greensboro with a degree in Early Childhood Education. After a 20 year career in Sales and Marketing with the Eastman Kodak Company, Lynn decided to leave the corporate world behind and commit to her passion for Sports and Fitness.
Lynn’s lifelong love of running would ultimately lead her to a career in Pilates, but not before it brought her to the finish line of many road races, including the New York City Marathon, numerous half marathons, Peachtree Road Races and triathlons. Lynn was certified in April 2001 as a Level 1 running coach through USA Track and Field. The following year, she was certified by AFAA as a Personal Trainer.
In 2004, Lynn discovered Pilates after she suffered a series of running injuries. With regular Pilates practice, she found the strength and balance to ultimately take her running to the next level, minimizing pain and injury. She continues to be an active member and volunteer for the Atlanta Track Club, assisting with training runs for first timers running the Atlanta Half Marathon and the Peachtree Road Race.
In 2006, Lynn completed her certification as a Power Pilates Instructor and became a Pilates Method Alliance Certified Teacher.
Lynn successfully completed Redcord instructor training in 2009; it has become her favorite compliment to Pilates for overall strength building and core stabilization.
Lynn’s continual quest to increase her knowledge keeps her motivated to stay at the top of the fitness industry. To further enhance her teaching skills for clients transitioning out of a rehabilitative environment, Lynn participated in continuing education classes through Polestar Pilates.
As a teacher, Lynn brings enthusiasm and compassion to each session, challenging her clients with a personalized workout program based on realistic, attainable goals. Lynn is thrilled to be a part of the team at One on One and is looking forward to helping her clients not only exceed their personal fitness goals, but develop a lifelong pattern for healthy living.
