“It gives me great satisfaction and fulfillment to provide my patients with the tools to regain their independence, achieve pain free movement, and live life to the fullest”

Aretha received her Bachelor of Science in Kinesiology and Minor in Health Promotions from Michigan State University. While at MSU, Aretha participated in research studies looking at the effects of exercise throughout pregnancy and its impact on children throughout early stages of development. It was during this time that Aretha developed a deep appreciation for the human body and the impact movement can have on someone’s quality of life. Aretha went on to receive her Doctorate of Physical Therapy from Oakland University. Aretha developed a passion for pelvic health through clinical rotations and observing first hand how pelvic floor dysfunction presented in various musculoskeletal disorders, and just how connected everything in the body is.

Aretha began her career in outpatient orthopedics and pelvic health with a focus on working with patients with degenerative conditions, chronic pain populations, and various different pelvic health populations including pregnancy/ postpartum, pelvic pain, bowel and bladder dysfunction, as well as GI disorders.

Aretha has attended advanced coursework and holds certifications in manual therapy through Michigan State University College of Osteopathic Medicine, Pelvic Health through Herman & Wallace, Visceral Manipulation through Barral Institute as well as Dry Needling through Myopain Seminars.

Aretha uses a wide variety of modalities including RedCord, Pilates, muscle energy, dry needling, and manual techniques to provide a holistic approach to evaluating and treating each patient. Aretha truly believes that the key to each patient’s success is addressing all components of a patient’s health.

During her free time, Aretha enjoys reading, cooking, boxing, exploring the city of Atlanta and spending time with friends and family.
